Benefits of (Cold Pressed) Juicing and Why Cold Pressed Juice is used for Cleansing

Juicing allows your body to assimilate a lot of nutrients (especially micronutrients like magnesium, potassium, phosphorous) quickly and efficiently. A lot of the fiber (insoluble fiber) has been removed from the juice and this allows the body to easily digest and absorb the vitamins and micronutrients.

Reboot Cleanse

When you consume a plate full of vegetables, your body only absorbs 35% of the vitamins and nutrients present as your body has to “chew” through the fibers to get to the “good stuff”. Our cold pressed method helps your body skip this step of “chewing”.

There is no heat applied in this method of extraction. Our machines uses the pressure of a hydraulic press to gently squeeze out the juices, hence the name “cold press”. Normal centrifugal methods of juicing, which is commonly seen in hawker centres, spin the fruit and vegetables at very high speed. The nutrients and enzymes are destroyed in the process and are quickly oxidized. The health benefits of drinking these juices are small compared to juices extracted using the cold pressed method.

If you are concerned about the fibre content, there is still soluble fibre present in the juices and this soluble fibre helps to keep things moving smoothly. Soluble fibre helps to reduce your cholesterol and keeps your blood sugar stable.

On average, your body spends vast amounts of energy digesting the food you eat. As a result, after a meal, you tend to feel lethargic or sleepy. During a cleanse, with almost no energy required to digest the juices, your body will be freed up to do housekeeping and cleansing its cells of built up toxins.

The cleansing process might cause some discomfort such as headaches, diarrhoea or nausea. The toxins are being awakened and are being released in a quick way and this causes the “side effects”. To minimise this side effects, you should prepare your body to go into a cleanse by reducing gradually the amount of processed, oily foods, meat and dairy.

If a full juice cleanse is not your cup of tea, you can choose to do a half juice and half food program too. Choose “clean” eats to accompany your juices. Organic vegetables, preferably raw, or steamed or lightly fried with coconut oil and light dusting of himalayan sea salt is an ideal “clean” eat.

Recently, we launched our food series (from left) – Raw Zucchini Pasta (spiralized Zucchini into spaghetti-like strips) marinated in rich & creamy avocado basil sauce – perfect creamy pasta replacement! Without carbs! And also our garlic cauliflower “rice” cooked with coconut oil, egg and bell peppers! (If you’re craving fried rice, this will definitely hit the spot!) and lastly, our yummy raw cacao pecan slice made with tahini, pecans, almonds, coconut oil and cacao…ooh lala! Doesn’t taste “healthy” at all but it’s so good for you! All of our salt used are himalayan pink salt, sea salt or tamari (gluten free) and we do not use any refined sugar in any of our products. We only use maple syrup, dates or honey. Please ask us if you have any food allergies!

Importantly, start where you are! We also love local favourites like char kway teow, chicken rice but it doesn’t mean you can’t make healthier choices while eating these foods. You can supplement with a bottle of juice and that’s the primary reason we called our company “Daily Juice”. You can drink our raw juices daily. We recommend two bottles, one for breakfast and the other for an mid-afternoon pick-me-up snack or even replace dinner.
