Organic or not?

After much research, the conclusion is that consumption of organic produce does provide more benefits than non-organic produce. However, if you are a person who consumes a lot of unhealthy food and rarely eat fresh, raw greens, consuming non-organic produce is better than not consuming any. Organic produce is priced alot higher and not as much variety is available as non-organic. Interestingly, in Norman Walker’s juicing book, he says that in his experiments, the pesticides are contained in the fibers of the vegetable, and not in the juice. Thus, our direction with our company is to go non-organic. But we will soon be introducing a limited organic range of juices.

Why is my urine or stool reddish?

If you drank Barnie, then it’s probably the beetroot content of our juice. If you are still unsure, please consult a doctor.

How long can your juices last?

Using the cold pressed method, our unopened juices can last up to 5 days in the refrigerator. If you open it, drink it within the day, even when kept in the fridge.
We do not pasteurize our juices and there are no preservatives or sugars added.

Why does your juice settle?

Additives can prevent the natural settling process but since our juices have no additives it tends to settle. Before drinking, be sure to give your juice a gentle shake!

Should I continue to take my multi-vitamins? What about B12?

Our juices have plenty of vitamins and minerals! It is a natural source of “multi-vitamins”. But if you are a vegetarian or vegan, the only vitamin you may want to supplement with is B12. It is debatable whether you consume enough B12 on a plant based diet. Plant based supplements such as spirulina are great! There’s also supplements in health food stores such as super green food powder. You might also want to supplement your juicing diet with a probiotic to replenish the digestive tract with healthy bacteria.

Where do I get my protein?

There are many plant based proteins. Both Krypto, our nut mylks and smoothies contain plenty of veg protein.

Is there fiber in your juices?

In our juices, we remove the pulp so that the body can easily absorb and benefit from the nutrients as quickly as possible. For a detox programme, this is great because this gives your body and digestive tract a break from having to break down solid food – so that the energy can be directed towards cleansing. The juices do have soluble fiber, which have benefits such as reducing cholesterol and slowing down absorption of sugar which helps in management of diabetes.

Our green smoothies however, will have their fiber intact.

I have a gluten allergy, can I still drink your juices?

No worries there, there’s zero added additives! Our juices are gluten free! It’s 100% vegan friendly! However, do note that our smoothies have yogurt in it. If you have any nut allergies, or anything you are uncomfortable with consuming , please let us know. We will customise the juices for you, at a minimal charge.

What if I am on blood thinners, can I still drink your juices?

It is not advisable to, as we juice a lot of greens inside our juices. But please do check with your doctor if you are unsure.

What if I am lactose intolerant? Can I still drink your juices?

Our juices are suitable for people with lactose intolerance. However, our smoothies do contain a small amount of yogurt. Most people with lactose intolerance can consume yogurt. The good bacteria (live, active cultures) found in yogurt will help digest the lactose for you. But if you are unsure, do not consume our smoothies that have “natural yogurt” found in the ingredient list.

Can I drink your juices while I’m nursing or during my pregnancy?

Our juices are a great addition to your diet but do not consume only juices as your body would require a lot more calories when your are nursing or during your pregnancy. And if you are on a cleansing or detox programme, the body usually releases a lot of toxins back into your system, which is what your baby relies on for nourishment. That said, adding a Daily Juice to your regular diet whilst nursing and during pregnancy will give you the added nourishment which your body will thank you for!

I have diabetes, can I drink your juices?

As our fruit & veg mixes contain fructose (fruit sugar) you should consult with your doctor first. Depending on the type of diabetes, our juices may or may not be suitable for your consumption.

Our fully veg juices on the other hand, which contain no fruits may be just your thing.
